A Weekend with Mark Lowry & Steve Brown

Well! This past weekend was so cool. On Friday, I spent the evening at Mt Paran Church of God's brand new sanctuary in Atlanta. Mark Lowry, Stan Whitmire and LordSong were there and we had such a good time. If you missed it: shame!

Of course, Mark still thinks I am 10. (See his ramblings page for October 12, 2005...)

Then, on Saturday I was able to attend the Saturday service at Perimeter Church in Atlanta to see Dr. Steve Brown. Steve gave one of the best, atypical sermons on money. It was great! His sermon points were:

1) If you can, get rich.
2) If you do get rich, be very careful.
3) If you can't get rich, deal with it.

Afterwards, Steve told me not to disabuse Mark of thinking that I am only 10. He said he (Steve) would love to be mistaken for that age!

So, yes...Mark, I am quite young...thank you very much.

Salem Communications Acquires Singing News

Oh Boy! Let the fun begin :)

Salem has announced it is buying the Singing News magazine... "the printed voice of Southern Gospel music." Salem is the same company that publishes the Gaither Homecoming Magazine, too.

Maybe we'll see more beards, ladies wearing pants, and Guy Penrod's long locks on the cover? I can't wait! A new day is dawning... maybe.

New Podcast with Mark Lowry!

Mark Lowry called today and we talked about his latest DVD (Hollywood) and his latest tour that's coming to Atlanta in a few days. I'll be there helping to host the event with Premier Productions.

Listen to this unedited version of our conversation... Mark is truly one of the most interesting characters you could ever meet!
