AUDIO/PODCAST INTERVIEW>> Sonya Isaacs

On March 29th, Sonya Isaacs called and we talked about an upcoming concert. (In fact, we recorded the interview as if we were talking on Saturday night, April 1st...)

In addition to the concert talk though, I asked her about her experience on the cruise ship with the Homecoming Friends when Anthony Burger passed away, we discussed Sonya's early start in music, what she calls her "MAN" -dolin, and a very interesting description of her voice (the product of two famous country women put together?). You don't want to miss it: Sonya Isaacs, my guest!

**AUDIO>> More from Anthony Burger's Funeral Now Posted**

**HERE'S MORE AUDIO FROM ANTHONY BURGER'S FUNERAL - OVER 12 MINUTES - (2MB download)**

I got my bandwidth issues resolved and now am able to provide additional audio from the funeral. The above clip includes the Bill Gaither eulogy, but also includes Russ Taff's comments made just before Bill comes to speak.

I'm leaving the smaller, Bill-only, file available for download as well. Access it here (600KB).

I do have "These Are They," as sung by David Phelps and backed by the current-Gaither Vocal Band; however, because of copyright issues, I'm thinking twice before I post it. :)

Tim Riley returning to Gold City?

In all fairness, I want to say out front: I have not verified this. For now, it's rumor... But, someone told me that Daniel Riley said that Bill Lawrence is coming off the road and Tim Riley is reclaiming the bass position with Gold City.

Again, I can't verify this and have seen this nowhere else. "For what it's worth..."

More audio from Anthony's funeral

I've had a ton of traffic lately and it's caused the bandwidth usage skyrocket! I'm working with my hosting servers to prevent an overload of the site.

After I am sure the site can handle it, I've got more audio from the funeral to post. Stay tuned...

Mark Lowry hospitalized

Report from Gaither.com

Mark Lowry had a motorcycling accident this weekend. One report (from Bob Sauer, Mark's manager) was that he broke his leg and has a bump on his head; the other report (as linked to above) says he's hospitalized.

Either way, I hope he's gonna be alright!

Anthony Burger's daughter, Lori

Link: Lori

This is the website for Anthony and LuAnn Burger's daughter, Lori. The last opportunity I had to see Anthony was at a solo date in Covington and Lori was there singing some as well. Her debut CD is wonderful and very well produced. Check out her sound clips and watch for good things from her!

AUDIO/PODCAST INTERVIEW>> The Isaacs

AUDIO>> The Isaacs

Yesterday (Tuesday), just 6 six days since the tragedy aboard the Gaither Cruise in the Caribbean, I had the opportunity to talk to an eyewitness: Lily Isaacs.

Here's a synopsis:

Lily Isaacs sits down with Daniel Britt to discuss witnessing the passing of Anthony Burger, her Jewish background, and the environmentally safe "Hybrid Isaacs."

About Lily:

Vocalist and matriarch of the group. Lily was born in Germany after World War II to two Jewish survivors of the Holocaust. She grew up in the Bronx, New York studying theatre, performing on Off Broadway , and recorded her first album in 1968 on Columbia records with her friend as ``Lily & Maria``. Being raised in a Jewish home, she was taught against Jesus as Messiah, and didn`t become a Christian until 1971 when a death in the family brought her to church for the first time. It was at that point in her life that she decided to serve God with her music as well, and along with the Isaacs patriarch, Joe began the foundation upon which the Isaacs have been built.
