Happy Thanksgiving!

This Thanksgiving, we went to Daniel's family's house, in Perry, GA. They had lots of folks there from Maine too, so it was a good crowd. Of course, there was WAY too much food, but it just wouldn't be right not to have leftovers anyway. While we had fun eating our way into paralysis, Pierce was busy entertaining everyone with his many antics.

After dinner, Daniel's Dad took all the kids (and kids at heart) on a hayride around their property. Pierce really enjoyed that and didn't want to get off, so we went around the second time too. He got to see the pig again as well as some chickens and cows. When we finally came back to the house the second time, he was fast asleep.
The next day, Pierce got to go out with Grandpa Charlie and feed the pig, and play with the car, and sit on the tractor. He even "talked" Grandpa into another hayride. That night, we went to a tailgate party for Perry High School, where Daniel's sister goes to school. Pierce got a hot dog and enjoyed listening to the band and seeing the firetrucks that were parked by the football field. In all, it was a very good Thanksgiving for Pierce.
I was able to get a lot of shopping done this weekend and I am enjoying being just a bit ahead of the game for once! Daniel had a lot of time to relax, which never happens, so that was very nice. We are really looking forward to Christmas this year, now that Pierce will be more "into" it. It will be really hard not to go overboard!
As usual, there are some fun new pictures in Pierce's album that will give a little visual taste of our Thanksgiving weekend. We hope you all had a great Thanksgiving weekend as well. If I don't post again before Christmas, please be sure to have a very merry one! We love you all!

Halloween and the Beginnings of November

Just a quick update:
October ended very nicely as Daniel's radio station had their shareathon and did very well. In fact, they are still getting some funding in since shareathon ended. He had fun eating lots of yummy shareathon food and getting goofy on the air with the other DJs. I put a couple of photos in the album for you to see Daniel's other identity.
Halloween was lots of fun with Pierce this year, since he is walking and talking. He went to the Fall Festival as a lion. He was a very good lion. At first, when we asked him, " What does a lion say?" and he replied, "Meow!" Later, he said,"roar," whenever we asked him what a lion says. He really enjoyed the games at the festival, but his favorite thing was the candy. He would be so distracted by the candy in his bag that he wouldn't play the games. I started putting it in a different bag so that he would be able to focus. Reality check, mom! He is too smart for the old "out of sight, out of mind" trick. He sat down in the middle of the room and stuck his hand in his candy bag, but there was no candy and the most upset look came across his face. Then he looked at me, and I knew that he knew...so, as consolation, he got one sucker and that ended the standoff.
Well, we have also jump-started our November with lots of fun already!
First, we got to go to Pierce's friend, Miles' birthday. He turned two at the beginning of the month, which is crazy because I feel like we were just visiting him and his mommy at the hospital when he was born. Pierce had a fun time being with all the other kids and playing with Miles' crayons that he got for his birthday and I enjoyed seeing all of our (grown up) friends. Plus, the cupcakes were really good!
Next, we went to Daniel's maternal grandfather's 80th birthday party in Warner Robins, Ga. We drove down the night before and spent the day with Daniel's mom, dad, and his two sisters. Pierce got to play with his Aunt Haley's new pig the next morning. Yes, you read that correctly. P-I-G. He was really cute and pink and Pierce was fairly mesmerized by him. I think Daniel really liked him too! That night, we all surprised Great Grandpa Green with a birthday party at their church. Daniel's dad and uncles grilled chicken and sausage and his mom and aunts brought lots of yummy side dishes. Pierce loved the food, especially the dressing. You have to know that anytime you get together with Daniel's family there is going to be lots of good food. Daniel played the piano and Pierce had to get in on that too. Then he got to go on a little walk with Great Grandpa at the end of the party, which was very sweet.
So, I guess that's a wrap! Thanksgiving is just around the corner too, so we definitely are hoping that all of you will have a wonderful time with family, friends, and food! We love you!
